There are not many lychee for one pound of them. It’s quite expensive for this price but still sweet. It’s medium seed size but quite juicy.

I have been waiting for the fresh Australian lychees and ordered them the first day they're available so they're fresh (should be red-pink color, with little brown or black spots). I guess as the first batch of the crop, they're small with mostly large seeds and little flesh, but still sweet and flavorful. They're also very expensive at $16.99 a pound or 68-70 cents a piece (25 to a pound/ bag). I prefer the Australian lychees over the ones from Mexico, Thailand, China, and South Africa. The only ones I like are the Australian and Hawaiian varieties....fragrant, sweet, flavorful. I might get more when the price drops, but that usually means the fruit will be older and starting to spoil.
