a must have
both sweet and a bit tart i love it
I’ve never tried a Hawthorne berry before so I was hesitant to buy but I’ve been eyeing it for a while since I was looking for Tanghulu! I finally got it and it’s really good! It’s tart, tangy, sweet, sour and chewy all rolled into one frozen treat. The taste reminds me a lot of this Chinese candy I used to eat as a kid. It was a stack of little crispy/chewy fruit leather discs that was wrapped in paper and had cartoon Chinese children on it. Now I realize those candy must have been made from Hawthorne fruit! Definitely a nostalgia moment.
Perfect amount of coating and sweetness plus the fruit perfectly balances it out with its tartness
I’ve never had tangulu or hawthorns before so this product was a new experience for me.
Unlike what I’d initially expected (and in hindsight, quite obvious) the sugar crust on the outside is more of a thick syrup than a crisp shell, likely due to being frozen.
The hawthorns have a soft, fresh date like texture and are in good condition with a refreshing tartness. I love how the sourness of the fruit pairs with the sweetness of the sugar.
In fact, despite not being crispy, the sugar has a pleasant taste, not at all sticky or overly sweet. It’s my favorite part of the treat.
I can already see myself getting cravings for this and reordering, 10/10 all around.
it has an edible rice paper like botan candy around it. I've never had hawthorn before, this is very nice! feels like a healthier sweet treat, would order again!
nice for a little dessert. once defrosted, its very sticky!
it’s good. it’s a hard but not too hard outside with a sour inside fruit.
Very good I’ve never had hawthorn
